It amazes me how a week without running can affect me so much. I missed both my runs on Tuesday and Thursday because I was sick. I even missed work because I felt crappy, and that never happens. So the only day I ran this week was today. I was scheduled for a five mile run but only made it four miles. I couldn’t make myself go the last one. And honestly, after feeling crappy this week, I couldn’t push myself too much.
I ran outside because it was a beautiful Florida morning. Not too hot with a light breeze; wonderful for running on the island. I completed the four miles in 47:13, which comes out to an 11:48 average pace. Slower than I normally run, but that’s to be expected when I slack on working out. I really shouldn’t be hard on myself since I was sick, but it’s still discouraging.
At this point, I’ve just got to look forward on to next week and my future runs. It can only get better, right?
