On September 21, Peace Day, thousands of Zumba® instructors and millions of class participants in over 200,000 locations worldwide will come together and show off their moves on Peace Day to promote reconciliation and peace-building in their local communities through a movement called #dance4peace. Thousands have already created and shared dance moves to celebrate world peace. Others, like myself, are having a class specifically dedicated to #dance4peace.
Since 2012 more than 1 billion people around the world have been exposed to the Peace Day mission of global ceasefire and non-violence. Zumba Fitness is sharing in this task by asking instructors and students alike to create their own move to celebrate peace and upload it to their social media channels using the hashtags #peaceday and #dance4peace prior Peace Day, and of course, dancing the day of.
On Monday, September 21 I will be holding a Zumba class in Sarasota, FL at the Arlington Park gym from 6:30-7:30pm. Those looking to get involved and share the joy of dance, love and individuality. I will also be picking songs to help celebrate the desire for world peace. Cost to attend the class is $12 and a portion will be donated to Peace One Day.
