Plan With Me: January

Welcome to my first post of the Plan With Me series! As I mentioned in my 2016 Goals post, I want to be better a blogging, running, and eating healthy. To do that, I need to focus on packing all of this into my busy schedule. I know we all have packed schedules so I thought it would be helpful to share my planning tactics in case you want to use them too.

Full disclosure, I love stamps, stickers and color so you’ll be seeing a lot of that to help me keep track of everything. But first, let’s start with the planner itself. My planner of choice is the Erin Condren Vertical Layout Life Planner. It’s a little on the pricy side, but I’ve been using it since 2011 and have found it’s the best planner for me. I started out with a different one at the beginning of 2015, but it wasn’t the best for me and I ended up going back to Erin Condren. Because I knew I wanted to be a better planner in 2016, I started playing around with different layouts, stickers, etc. this past month so I’d know what worked best when I go into 2016. And since January is just a couple days away, let’s dive into it.

I used to write down every appointment as it came up. But in the world of public relations, things are always changing and white out became my best friend. After awhile, my weeks started to look like this.

I realized it looked messy, so I decided to take a different approach and use sticky notes to mark appointments until I plan for the week. I know things will still change during the week, but at least it will be a little cleaner. To see that process check out the video below.

So I hope that helps you get a bit of an understanding on what I’m trying to do and I hope it holds me accountable for my workouts, blogging, and Zumba business. As I mentioned in the video, I will share how I plan out my blog posts too.

Until next time…happy planning!
